If a person does it the same way every time, it shouldn't need a person.

Automation is worth doing where a process is repetitive, rule-based, high-volume and currently done by someone whose time is worth more. It isn't worth doing everywhere, and a lot of what gets sold as AI is automation of things that should simply be deleted.

• Workflows connecting the systems you already pay for
• Document, data and content handling that runs on a trigger rather than a reminder
• AI used where judgment on unstructured input is the bottleneck — not as decoration
• Failure handling, so a broken step raises a flag instead of silently stopping

What it changes

Hours come back, and the work happens the same way every time regardless of who's out that week.
